Ski, Run, and Rock!

On Saturday March 15th LPC had their annual ski trip at Wapiti Ski Valley (just outside of Melfort). It was fantastic! The weather was beautiful and the slopes weren't too busy. Ha ha the whole idea of skiing amazes me; there is nothing like putting what little skill most of us have in the sport, into the hands of gravity as you fly down the hill on little skis! Who would have known it would catch on like this! Some of us went snowboarding and others had trick skis. Its awesome to see how we each progress; at the beginning of the day we go cautiously down the easy slopes, but soon we find ourselves heading straight down the steepest part of a black diamond to see how much speed we can get before we attempt a 360! As for me, I was following Drew on a bunny trail that was filled with moguls, and as I watched him fall I too fell and almost hit my forehead smack dab into a tree! Those who were aware of my skiing abilities, did not seem overly surprised by my calamity! It was a good day!

After skiing, and a slight nap in the van, a few of us went to Imperial for Rock Solid. We met the other half of the youth group there as well as many others from Lanigan. There were speakers from Pro Life who talked about how their lives had gone done the wrong path, some of them were into drugs and others had gotten pregnant, and how they changed their attitudes and lives around when they met Jesus. It was very powerful! The worship band for the evening was Fire Resides, a stellar band from Saskatoon if you didn't already know! It was sweet! Ha ha oh yeah and Pastor Kevin and I were called up to the front for a game of "Fuzzy Bunny". The point of the game was too fit as many marshmallows in your mouth as you could and say the words fuzzy bunny. Very comical for all spectators! After Pastor Kevin was done, he spit out his marshmallows into his hand and insisted on trying to shake the hands of everyone in the crowd!
